ECD Site Registration Support

Government Registration of ECD & Aftercare Facilities

Creating stable and safe ECD facilities – with the potential to grow and become sustainable.

The journey to becoming fully registered with the Western Cape Education Department can be daunting. We walk alongside principals every step of the way—helping them meet the legal health, safety, and education standards required to register and operate legally. Registration doesn’t just open doors to government funding—it also gives parents peace of mind that their children are learning in safe, nurturing environments.

Most preschools can’t do this alone. The costs of upgrading buildings, hiring qualified staff, and submitting the correct paperwork are often out of reach. But thanks to donor support, KET is helping more centres in our area register and maintain their status.

We also empower principals with practical tools: training in how to apply for and maintain government subsidies, regular site visits to track progress, mentoring to build leadership confidence, and a dedicated WhatsApp group to keep them updated on policy changes and opportunities.

Together, we’re making sure that every child has access to quality early education—starting with stronger, supported ECD centres.
