ECD Practitioner Training

Empowering Educators to Unlock Every Child’s Potential

Behind every thriving child is an inspiring teacher. We believe that quality early education begins with confident educators.

Teacher Development Workshops

Through a structured 24-module training series, delivered in bi-monthly sessions, practitioners gain hands-on tools to improve classroom management, understand child development, and bring play-based learning to life. Each workshop is packed with practical guidance that teachers can apply immediately—helping them feel more confident, inspired, and better equipped to meet the needs of every child in their care.

Grade R School Readiness Project

Since 2022, KET and KILT have been working hand in hand at Melrose House, a historic building on Queen Street, with a shared vision to transform the educational landscape for children in Knysna. Together, we aim to build a “cradle to career” support system, ensuring that every child in Knysna has access to quality education—from preschool through high school and beyond.

In early 2024, this vision gained new momentum with the formal launch of the Grade R School Readiness Project. This initiative focuses on enhancing the educational continuity and success of Knysna’s children by specifically addressing the needs of Grade R learners—the crucial year before children enter primary school.

Through this project, KET is working closely with KILT to enhance teacher development, provide essential resources, and offer targeted support to ensure children are school-ready by the end of their Grade R year.
