Advancing Education for Knysna’s ECD Practitioners

We are thrilled to announce the reopening of our Further Education and Training Centre, marking the launch of the QCTO Accredited Level 4 Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner’s Course. This exciting new chapter reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of ECD practitioners in Knysna and beyond.

As the field of early childhood development continues to evolve, the importance of further education for practitioners has never been greater. There has been an increase in importance for educators to be equipped with the right qualifications to support young learners, and the shortage of qualified teachers has become a pressing issue. The need for highly skilled educators is more critical than ever.

Through this course, ECD practitioners will have the opportunity to enhance their expertise and contribute to quality early childhood education. By offering accredited training in Knysna, we aim to empower educators and improve the educational experiences of children in our community.

Tonya Platt joins the KET team as our new Training Centre Coordinator and will be facilitating the course. A mother of six, she brings over 20 years of experience as a preschool and foundation phase teacher. Her qualifications include Montessori Early Childhood Education, Foundation Phase Education, and a Bachelor of Education in Inclusive Education. Tonya is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on Knysna’s ECD sector.
