Principal, Little Teddies Creche
“For me it is always about the children and their future.”
My journey grew out of necessity and hard work. I began as a cleaner at a preschool, and over time realised I had a passion for working with children. I studied and paid for my own qualification while continuing to work.
I joined Little Teddies in 2012 as a teacher, and last year I stepped into the role of principal. This is still new for me, and I am learning as I go — especially leadership, paperwork, budgeting and registration requirements. I also teach my own class while managing the preschool.
Salaries are low, and we rely mainly on school fees, ACE support and food donations. Even though it is hard, I remain positive and committed, because for me it is always about the children and their future.
