Why we share what we learn
In South Africa, the early childhood development system is still being built — and it is being built largely on the ground, in thousands of small centres doing the work long before policy reaches them. That makes the experience of implementers some of the most valuable evidence we have. What works in an under-resourced centre, what doesn’t, and why, is knowledge that too often stays local and is lost. By documenting and sharing our implementation experience — the successes and the hard lessons both — we help others avoid the same costs, and we give policymakers a clear, honest view from the ground. Advocacy and shared learning are how the work of one centre becomes the practice of many, and how what we do today shapes what our country chooses to do for every child.
