KET at the Knysna Oyster Festival

The KET team participated in the Knysna Oyster Festival once again, showing up in full force to join and support the events taking place. From venturing in the Knysna Forest to creative art exhibitions, it was a joyous ten days with many tourists enjoying our wonderful town.

The festival kicked off with the Knysna Forest Marathon, where about 6100 runners completed the challenging courses. We are immensely grateful to those who ran for charity, contributing to KET as beneficiaries of this year’s event. Thanks to their efforts, we received a generous donation of R51,000, which will make a meaningful impact to our work.

During the Knysna Cycle Race, the team manned a water point to cheer on cyclists as they raced towards the finish line. We are grateful for their support and the donations pledged.

Lastly, KET proudly showcased the artistic talents of children from the ECD facilities we service by participating in the Art Walk. Our children’s Exhibition was hosted by Pam Golding Properties, and attendees enjoyed sparkling wine donated by Alvi’s Drift Wines. Following the theme “The Knysna Five,” the exhibition celebrated five animals unique to Knysna – the Knysna Seahorse; The Knysna Dwarf Chameleon; the Brenton Blue Butterfly; the Knysna Loerie and the Banana Frog.

Participating in the Oyster Festival is always special for us, bringing buzz and support to our town during its quieter season. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, volunteered, or simply enjoyed the festivities with us. Together, we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of Knysna’s children.
