KET Recognised at SmartStart “Night of the Stars”

KET’s partnership with SmartStart began in 2021. Through a Rotary Global Grant, KET has facilitated open days; community awareness campaigns; training and offered support for new franchisees. Currently, 46 SmartStart franchisees operate with KETs assistance.

Every year, SmartStart hosts an annual event to recognise and celebrate the work being done to increase the availability of quality ECD programmes. Four of KET’s staff members attended their annual prize giving and training week in Johannesburg. This was the largest gathering of its kind, with 300 attendees gathering to collaborate on making early childhood development stronger in South Africa.

During the day they attended workshops and presentations facilitated by SmartStart. On the last evening everyone came together to celebrate at “Night of the Stars,” where franchisors, teachers and staff were acknowledged for their hard work and achievements. KET was honored with two awards. The first award was presented to the registration team – Strong Government Partnerships: Registration. The second was presented to Khanyisa Dyele, KET’s community activator: Best Engagement Award: 3rd Place.
