A partnership between Professional Child Care College (PCCC) and KET makes studying for a Certificate in Early Childhood Development possible in Knysna

A quality preschool education is one of the most significant factors ensuring the growth of a successful and productive nation. A confident and competent teacher remains one of the key elements to ensuring children are exposed to the learning which they need to enter formal schooling prepared and equipped to thrive and develop a love for lifelong learning.

KET is the only organisation in the area focusing exclusively on Early Childhood Education. It has been a long held goal to provide SETA approved NQF ECD training to teachers of Knysna and surrounds. Previously, teachers had to travel to George or Oudtshorn making this formal training prohibitive and costly for teachers. KET has formed a partnership with Professional Child Care College (PCCC) in Johannesburg. PCCC are experts in this field and have over the past 20 years developed accredited training materials and curriculum to provide quality practical certified NQF approved FET training.

This exciting development was launched in July of 2016, and the first intake of students are well on their way to being formally certified. The newly upgraded KET training centre is a quality facility, for students to attend classes. Additionally, the newly established resource centre provides a space where students can work on projects and assignments and gain additional support from the KET Education Facilitators. Students are supported and guided by the team of trainers at KET who provide support both in the classroom as well as on site in their preschool.

It is such an honour to be able to provide quality certified training to all of the wonderful educators in Knysna. KET remains committed to supporting our teachers and educators who provide such wonderful care and education to the young children of Knysna.
