The Trust is extremely proud to announce our partnership with the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust.
The grant funding obtained from the OMT will allow KET to continue to provide the quality ECD services which have become our trademark in the ECD arena in the Greater Knysna Community.
In the last 2 years the number of preschools affiliated to the Trust has doubled. This is a very positive indicator to KET, and highlights the value of the work being done in the community. It carries with it the responsibility KET faces of being able to provide these services to an ever increasing number of ECD centres. The ongoing support and recognition from loyal funders such as the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, not only validates the work we do, but goes a long way towards enabling the Trust to move forward and extend our services to all of those in need.
KET remains dedicated to our focus areas of teacher development and training, parent and governing body training, and providing up to date and effective learning programmes for children in the classrooms. It is undisputed that children who are exposed to learning at a preschool age, will cope better in both formal schooling, and in adult life.
KET has seen remarkable success in with our structured programmes in the past 21 years, and with partners such as Oppenheimer Memorial Trust we are assured we will see benefits long into the future.

Collette Vacations and Collette Cares foundation have been played a significant role supporting the young children of Knysna over the past 3 years.
The projects done with Collette have included the rebuilding the Happy Faces preschool, and the sponsorship of 50 children on the ACE programme for a year. In 2016 this relationship has further continued and has allowed KET to upgrade the Teacher Training centre into a first class centre where teachers are able to come and learn. The training centre, including a teacher resource centre has long been on the Vision board at KET and in July 2016 thanks to the wonderful support from Collette Cares KET was able to open this new training centre.
The Partnership as also allowed KET to move forward and roll out the Support groups and training sessions to new and young mothers in our community, the often daunting task of taking care of a new infant can be overwhelming, this fantastic initiative will see these mothers being able to access support and learn how best to stimulate and care for the young infants to ensure that they not only grow but Thrive.
The Collette Vacation Bus tours are loved by all of our preschools, who relish in the opportunity to show the international visitors how well they are doing, and how proud they are of the preschools which they attend daily. Teachers and principals alike enjoy sharing their stories, visitors have commented that they are often overwhelmed at how much these teachers do with so little and find this a truly humbling experience
We extend our thanks to the Collette Care Group, your support remains invaluable to us.

We had a great time distributing teddies, koalas and blankets donated by Irene Dunn and her team of knitters from Australia. The children at Ethembeni Educare were most impressed with their knitted goodies. The jerseys were donated by Val and Tony Loaders and the Knysna Knitters based in the United Kingdom. A big thank you from all!

Sean and Brenda Hurley from Ireland are not only great supporters of our Adopt a Child's Education programme, but also donate seeds to our affiliated preschools. The children from Little Care Bears are learning all about nurturing their own vegetable garden which is growing beautifull
Thanks to principal Elsie Cervati for the lovely photos!

Val (80) and Tony Loader (80) from Northampton, UK oversee the Knysna Knitters project. This group's nimble hands have rewarded KET with several offerings of the most beautifully knitted jerseys, beanies and blankets which are then distributed to the neediest of our 38 affiliated preschools.
The Knysna Knitters' parcels couldn't have arrived more timeously, coinciding with the extremely cold weather descending on our coastal town. The little children from Little Angels creche in Concordia, Knysna were thoroughly thrilled to receive their stunning, snug jerseys and beanies.
A big Thank You to Val, Tony and the rest of the knitting team!
