KET is truly impressed with the dedicated effort of various affiliated principals who have taken time out during their well deserved December holiday rest period to upgrade their preschools.
PHAKAMANI PRESCHOOL finished a classroom thanks to the generosity of Shelley Godsell and her team of e'Pap volunteers who supplied building material and labour. Principal Deliwe Rasibone and her pupils are thrilled with the results of their new learning space.
LITTLE HEARTS principal Mirinda Appels had her husband and friends put in some hard labour over the festive time and managed to complete an entire new building for their preschool class. What a superb effort!
CHALKLEY TALKEY started the new year with a revamped preschool interior thanks to principal Elinor's creative son Alex, who had great creative ideas with recycled items.
WELL DONE to you all! With such commitment and enthusiasm it is no doubt that 2015 is going to bring much reward and be an excellent year!
Gabriel and the team at Hollywood Bets Knysna made a generous donation to KET
and as a result, Bongani Preschool has received a much needed coat of paint.
We love the bright blue roof!
Principal Elizabeth says "Thank you Hollywood Bets!"
Sunny aptly describes both its location and the disposition of principal Ethel Sedibe. The dire need for electricity at Siyafunda Educare continued for nine years until it became clear that the only solution would be alternative energy. Naturally Solar was instrumental in establishing a list of requirements as well as putting KET in touch with the appropriate contacts. MLT Solar installed the system, providing a cost-effective service and follow-up training.
We've got the Power!

"This is a milestone project for us; being able to provide essential services in
a forward thinking manner which shows great care for the planet" ~ Nicola Goodall
As part of their Global Week of Service (19-25 October), Conrad Pezula 'adopted' Sophokama Playschool and installed a flushable toilet, an awning and outdoor playground equipment. This amazing team also arranged a food drive and they all got stuck in to help dig holes, paint and decorate walls. Principal Eunice Geelbooi is absolutely ecstatic about the improvements to her preschool: "I cannot believe it is all happening!"
Nicky Goodall (Knysna Edu Trust) thanks Conrad Pezula management, Jessica le Roux (PA to GM) and Gert Venter (GM) for this wonderful initiative to uplift our community.

What a welcoming sight! The singing of children as the sun streams in through the large windows of a freshly painted, beautiful farmhouse in Brackenhill. The reason for their cheer (and the beaming faces of their teachers) is because, after seven long years, they finally have their own preschool building, thanks to a collaborative effort between PG Bison and Knysna Education Trust.
Davey Carelse (HR Manager - PG Bison): "We are pleased to invest in this opportunity to develoip children and build the future of a community. Thanks to KET for their willingness to join hands and contribute. They are setting an example to all in the Knysna area." (Davey is pictured third from the right at the back).
Julia Moses (Principal - Willow Tree): "I just want to say thanks to Davey from PG Bison, Nicky from Knysna Education Trust, my team and the parents who continue to believe in me." (Julia is pictured crouching in the centre behind three children in the front).
Nicky Goodall (Director - Knysna Education Trust): "This accomplishment couldn't have been achieved without commitment, co-operation and teamwork. We have full confidence in Julia and see a positive future ahead." (Nicky is pictured second from right at the back).
"Clap your hands.... clap, clap, clap!" May Willow Tree continue to grow from strength to strength!
