The Collette Foundation is an employee driven program with its main emphasis on providing assistance towards improving the lives of children located in their holiday regions. They are responsible for opening the eyes of their tour bus passengers to the conditions throughout the world. The Foundation has been working with KET since 2007 and has supported multiple projects during this period, amongst them being aiding with the upgrading of four preschools as well as the sponsorship of education fees for 10 preschool children. The Collette Foundation this year has committed to increasing their sponsorship to cover the education of 50 preschool children for a period of two years. This programme gives vulnerable and less fortunate preschool children access to a quality preschool education. Thank you to Collette Foundation and their wonderful clientele whose visits to South Africa affect a life long difference to the lives of the Knysna preschool children!
Sotheby's International Realty Knysna is making a difference to the preschool children of Knsyna. Through the Adopt-a-Child's Education programme the sales representatives are giving less fortunate children the opportunity to attend a preschool. It is undisputed that nutrition and quality of preschool education is a primary determinant of the child’s successful education at primary and secondary school levels.
The Knysna Education Trust would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of those who support the ACE (Adopt a Child’s Education) programme. Not only are you, and your family, giving a child a better chance at a successful life, your contribution is also critical in the drive to sustaining our vision of an educated nation. In a world shaped by global competition, preschool education is playing an increasingly vital role in child development and school readiness. There is growing awareness that early learning’s impacts persist across children’s life spans, affecting educational achievement, adult earning and even reducing crime and delingquency. Your support is making a real difference!
Many children in Knysna still have no access to preschool education, as a result of parents having limited education and/or income themselves. Our intent is to extend the reach of this programme to these at risk children. You can help us by spreading the word.
At present 345 children benefit from the ACE programme. We would like to assist a further 155 children with your help. If every current sponsor secures one friend, colleague, uncle, aunt or company to sponsor one child this mamoth challenge will be achieved.
So if you’re in a position to assit please forward this link to like minded friends, family members, bookclubs, tennis clubs, bridge clubs, etc., that would love to make a difference to the children of Knysna.
