Richard Sohn (Attorney) Attorney’s Admission exam (UNISA) and Higher Diploma in Company Law and Higher diploma in Tax Law (both from Wits). From the inception of the Trust in 1993, Richard, a co-founder, has acted as Chairman. He is a recipient of the Rotary International Paul Harris award for service to the community.
Vice Chairperson and Fundraising:
Gina-Lee Nel (Senior Primary Diploma in Education-JCE). Gina joined the Trust in 2010 to assist with fundraising. Gina works with the Knysna Municipality to secure municipal land and leases for educational usage and oversees the Trust’s major building projects.
Nompumelelo Koti: (Also known as Elizabeth) has been involved in the Knysna community since the 1960s. Recently, she held the position of Regional Chairperson of the Southern Cape ANC Woman’s League and was Councillor for Ward 7, in the Knysna Municipality. She has been involved in pre-school education since 1982, when she helped start the first playgroup for pre-school children in the township, which later developed into Ethembeni Day Care Centre in 1988, and is now a fully registered pre-school facility. She too is a recipient of the Paul Harris award for Service from Rotary International.
Pre-school Education Specialist:
Lesley Satchel BA, HED (Postgraduate Primary), HDE (Postgraduate Pre-primary), DSE (Postgraduate Remedial). Lesley taught and has been head teacher in the pre-school field in Knysna for 27 years and has served as Chairman of the Garden Route Pre-school Study Group. Lesley too, is another one of our proud recipients of the Paul Harris award for Service.
Lulabalo Gwintsa (UNISA) Lubabalo fulfilled the role of Strategic Manager for the Knysna Municipality and is currently involved in BLOU Solutions. Lulabalo is a successful businessman and provides support on special projects. Lulabalo joined the Trust in 2012.
